FEATURE TUTORIAL - EMAILADVISOR INTEGRATION WITH EMAILLABS

What is EmailAdvisor?

EmailAdvisor is a deliverability service for your email marketing campaigns.

There are five kinds of EmailAdvisor reports:

1] Delivery Monitor
2] Content Analyzer
3] Inbox Snapshot
4] Blacklist Monitor
5] ISP Status

The first four reports you must request to run while scheduling a message in EmailLabs. The fifth report, ISP Status, is run automatically; you do not need to request it.

Delivery Monitor checks if the message has been received at more than 60 ISPs and email providers, and if so, whether it reached the main mailbox or the bulk folder by showing the actual percentage of mail going to each location. It can also show if there have been changes in deliverability during the course of your campaign. If a particular ISP is blocking your messages you can take corrective action. You must have a dedicated (static) IP address to use Delivery Monitor. You must request to run this report when scheduling a message.

Content Analyzer tests your campaign against 30 Spam filters, and shows you what elements of your message make it prone to be filtered as Spam. Content Analyzer looks for attributes, keywords and other red flags typically associated with unsolicited commercial email. There are ISP spam filters, server spam filters and client spam filters. Content Analyzer allows you to view your content score along with whether your message will be filtered by three different levels of spam filters. You must request to run this report when scheduling a message.

Inbox Snapshot lets you see how your message renders in more than 60 email clients. It shows you what the message looks like both in the preview and main message panes, with and without images so you can see if what your recipients see is what you intended or radically different. Inbox Snapshot also includes a spell check, HTML validator, and link validator to ensure that your message looks right. You must request to run this report when scheduling a message.

Blacklist Monitor checks all the IP addresses and domains in your message, including those contained in your message content, and determines if they are listed on any of 175 different blacklists. You can find out which blacklists you appear on so you can work with specific providers to resolve issues. You must have a dedicated (static) IP address to use Blacklist Monitor. You must request to run this report when scheduling a message.

ISP Status checks for email delays at 60 US and European ISPs and shows you how long each ISP is taking to deliver email. You can see if your delivery delays are due to ISP problems or something about your message. This report is run automatically; you do not need to request it.

Running EmailAdvisor Audits

When Should You Run An EmailAdvisor Audit?

You can run an EmailAdvisor audit from EmailLabs once you are ready to test a campaign. An audit is a test of your email message against one or more of the EmailAdvisor components: Inbox Snapshot, Delivery Monitor, Content Analyzer, and Blacklist Monitor. EmailAdvisor audits your message by sending it to a built-in seed address list and then reporting the results back to you.

We recommend you perform at least two audits of every email campaign:

1] During A Test

Audit your message before sending it to your list. Running EmailAdvisor in a Quick Test is suggested so you can resolve any problems with the message’s appearance or content or any Blacklisting issues that may cause it to be filtered.

2] During Your Live Send

Audit your message when you send it to your email campaign, so you can identify and resolve any delivery problems as they occur.

NOTE: ISPs may change how they filter your mail as you send out your campaign, so delivery from a test run is not a guarantee of delivery when sending out the actual campaign. If the audit addresses are distributed evenly throughout your list, Deliverability Monitor can show success rates at the beginning, middle and end of your send.

How Do You Audit?

To audit your message in EmailLabs, you will select the reports you want to run when you schedule a Quick Test or when you send out your final email to your mailing list (live send). After reviewing the audits on the test message, you can make any needed changes prior to the actual deployment of the campaign.

How to Run Your EmailAdvisor Audit in a Quick Test

Step 1: In EmailLabs on the left-hand navigation menu, click on View Messages.

View Messages

Step 2: Locate the message upon which you want to run the EmailAdvisor reports. Select the Quick Test action from the Actions drop-down menu and click on the "Go" button to the right.

Select Action Quick Test

Step 3: The "Send Quicktest" page opens up. Complete this page as usual for your test. In the "Message Options" section under "Proof" is the "EmailAdvisor" section where you can run your reports. Choose the report you wish to run by putting a check in the multiple-selection check box next to the report names.

NOTE: Below the report names is the Usage Section which will explain how many uses of EmailAdvisor you have used, scheduled and have remaining. A usage is counted when at least one box is checked. You are charged a usage whether you select one report or all of them.
